Japan is a great place for festivals. They’re vibrant, lively, loud and organized— quite majestic to watch! To bring in the autumn season, the Kagoshima Prefecture in Southern Kyushu hosts Ohara, the largest autumn festival in the area. Taking place November 2-3, the festival will likely attract it’s usual number of over 600,000 guests. Watch (or join) 22,000 people donned in colorful coats (Yukata Kimono) dance and march about to traditional music.
If you’re in Japan and craving a festival, this seasonal event might be just what you need. The festival can be accessed 15 minutes on foot from the JR Kagoshima Chuo Station.
